Mistletoe Moth Drop Earrings
Meet the Mistletoe Moth (Comocrus behri), a striking Australian moth that breaks the usual rules by being out and about during the day. Found across mainland Australia, these fascinating moths can often be spotted hovering around mistletoe and flowers, their bold black and white wings making them surprisingly hard to miss.
These drop earrings are inspired by the Mistletoe Moth's distinctive markings, including its crisp white bands, and zig-zag wing patterns. Two pairs of layered wings add movement and dimension, catching the light as you wear them.
Measuring approximately 35mm tall and 45mm wide, they make a fun statement while still being lightweight and comfortable enough for everyday wear.

Here are some ways to keep your Mistletoe Moths in great condition!
- Hold your moth by the ear hook, especially when putting them on and off.
- Try not to touch the patina and paint if you can. The moths body and wings have black patina and white paint, which can wear off if rubbed or cleaned.
- Avoid getting them wet. It's best to avoid wearing your earrings in the rain as the copper and sterling silver can discolour.
- Keeping them clean... avoid using alcohol-based products on your earrings. Use a microfiber cloth or soft cloth. The copper body has been oxidised (a black patina added to the surface). This can rub off overtime so cleaning should be kept to a minimum to prolong their longevity. Should you wish to have them re-oxidised if the patina has worn away, just contact me, and I can arrange this service.
